Entries are invited for innovative products and ideas for the bathroom, including new ranges of sanitary, brassware, shower trays, enclosures and screens, steam rooms, saunas, towel rails, tile warming etc
Heating and Plumbing
This award gives recognition to products and innovations in the world of building services, including heat pumps, boilers, heating emitters including UFH systems, heating controls, rainwater and drainage systems.
Finance
Innovation in the world of finance and insurance for the self-builder and renovator is essential in helping people to build. Entries in this category are invited from lenders, mortgage brokers, and insurers offering site insurance and warranties who have developed exemplary products or services.
Architectural Fixtures and Fittings
A broad category that gives recognition to products and innovations in the world of architectural fixtures and fittings including decorative mouldings and ironmongery, including door furniture and socket and switch design.
Conservation and Renovation
Entries are invited in this category for innovation in products and services from the world of conservation and renovation, including conservation specialists, damp proof treatments, conservation building products, retro insulation products, secondary glazing systems, treatments for insect or fungal infestation.
Ventilation and Air Tightness
This category is open to entries from manufacturers of ventilation equipment including mechanical and passive ventilation solutions, plus vapour control membranes, and barriers, cavity closers, and all the products related to controlling air tightness and ventilation within the home.
The Green Award for Ecological Building Product or Service
Entries are invited from manufacturers and suppliers of products and services that contribute towards a home's sustainability, including heat pumps, solar panels, photo-voltaic panels, wind and water turbines, insulation, rainwater harvesting, grey water recycling, and other ecological building products.
Exteriors and Landscaping
This award gives recognition to product design and innovation for gardens, driveways, patios, terraces and outbuildings, including paving products, gates and fences, outdoor lighting and garage building systems.
Fireplaces and Stoves

This category is open to entries from manufacturers of all flooring products including stone, ceramic, timber, engineered timber laminates, carpets, linoleum, and all products related to the installation and maintenance of floor coverings.
Joinery
This award gives recognition to product design and innovation in what is currently one of the most exciting and dynamic areas of product development, the world of windows, internal and external doors plus staircase design.
Interior Decoration and Finishes
The judges will be looking for real innovation in the world of paint finishes, stains, sealants, varnishes and other decorative finishes including wall papers and specialist plaster products.
Lighting
The award is for excellence is the rapidly evolving world of domestic lighting product design, where the demand for low energy fittings is leading to some remarkable innovations in bulb technology, LED lighting, fibre optics and the related fittings.
Building Components
A broad category that seeks to recognise true innovation in building product design in areas that do not fall into any mainstream product category. Entries may range from a new roof truss or floor joist product, to a new wall tie design, cavity tray, lintel or range of architectural stone products.
